Have you also seen those websites offering you to register with your Facebook account? Do you want to register with Facebook on your website? In this article, we will show you how to register with a click and log in to a website using Facebook.
Why add Facebook connect to your site?
Some people do not like to fill in registration forms and wait for confirmation email. Adding the Facebook Connect option to your website makes it easy for users to register with a site by using their Facebook account.
The users who want to use the usual registration capability can still do this.
Now let's see how to sign in with Facebook on your WordPress website.
When activating, go to the settings, then select Nextend FB Connect to activate the plug-in.
You will need to activate this plugin with a Facebook app. If you have already used another plugin to comment on Facebook, a bar for adding or following buttons, you may have already created a Facebook app for your site. You can then use the ID and the secret keys of the same app in the settings. If you do not have a Facebook app, you can always create one for free. Just go to the Facebook Developers site and click on create a new app link under my apps menu.
Then a popup will pop up asking you to select your app platform. You must click on a website to proceed.
Afterwards, you must enter the name of your app, the name field, and a category for your app. You can use the name of your website as the app name and the name field and click the create-app ID button to continue.
Facebook will now create your app. On the next screen, scroll down a bit to enter the URL of your site and then click the "next" button.
That's all, you've successfully created your Facebook app. You can visit your app's dashboard by clicking the My Apps menu at the top, and navigate to the app that you've just created.
Please keep a copy of your App ID and the secret keys of the App on the dashboard and keep it in a secret location.
Return to the Nextend Facebook Connect settings page on your WordPress site and paste the App ID and the secret keys of the app. Once you've done that, you can view other options on the screen and click the Save Changes button to save your plug-in settings.
This is all. We hope this article helped you to sign in with Facebook on your WordPress website.
